Lokobe is the oldest and only strictly protected national park on Nosy Be and one of the last intact rainforest fragments on the island. If you truly want to understand Madagascar, you can't miss Lokobe.
The tour begins with a traditional pirogue ride through the mangroves – this journey alone is an experience in itself. The fishermen and villagers of Antafondro, a small Islamic fishing village at the edge of the park, accompany you through their territory. I coordinate and translate.
In the forest, you'll encounter black lemurs, chameleons, geckos, and numerous bird species endemic to Madagascar. The primeval forest is dense, humid, and loud – a completely different experience from the island beaches.
This tour is especially suited for nature fans and anyone who wants to experience the real wilderness of Madagascar beyond the beach holiday.

Itinerary
