Nosy Tanikely is a protected marine reserve and is considered by divers and snorkelers as one of the most beautiful reefs in the Indian Ocean. The coral reef around the small island is intact, species-rich, and the water is of exceptional clarity.
Sea turtles are no rarity here – they often rest in shallow water and are so unafraid that you encounter them directly while snorkeling. Add to that hundreds of fish species, rays, and with luck, whitetip reef sharks.
I know the currents and the best entry points around Tanikely precisely. Since the area is protected, there are clear behavioral rules – no stepping on the reef, no feeding the animals. This protects the ecosystem and guarantees you an untouched experience long-term.
Nosy Tanikely can be ideally combined with Nosy Komba – lemurs in the morning, snorkeling in the afternoon.
